State of Georgia's "North Georgia Mountains Authority" Selects Naples-Based Coral Hospitality To Manage 2 Resort Properties
Naples, FL (March 2, 2005) -- The North Georgia Mountains
Authority (NGMA), an authority within the Georgia Department of Natural
Resources, has named Coral Hospitality as the management company for Brasstown
Valley Resort, located in Young Harris, and Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf
Club, along the shores of Lake Blackshear in Cordele. The announcement was
recently made by the NGMA Board of Directors and completes an intensive,
nation-wide search.
"One of the most important tasks facing the North Georgia Mountains Authority this year was the selection of a management company to oversee operations and continue the stewardship of Brasstown Valley Resort and Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club for the next 10 years," said Bob Newsome, Executive Director of the North Georgia Mountains Authority. "Our search for a partner was realized with Coral Hospitality. The company was chosen not only because they have the experience, management resources and qualifications to expertly manage the projects, but because they bring the enthusiasm and energy to ensure success."
"The decision to place both resorts under the direction of the one management company was undertaken by the North Georgia Mountains Authority Board to strengthen marketing and sales synergies and realize operating economies," said Newsome. "Coral's knowledge of our operations and goals, and their achievements with Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club since taking the helm last summer give them a strong foundation for future success."
Coral Hospitality's Chairman John Ayres adds, "As a company and as individuals, we are excited about bringing these two properties together. Both properties offer a wealth of resources beyond the traditional resort or conference center, and our focus will be on enhancing each guest's stay by inviting them to fully experience the property, its amenities, and prime location." Newsome noted Coral Hospitality's record of corporate citizenship and community involvement as a very important consideration in the selection process. Newsome explained that NGMA is committed to supporting the surrounding communities with dedicated personnel who take active roles and are involved in local endeavors. Coral Hospitality's hands-on philosophy mirrored NGMA's desire to have management and staff take a personal interest in their neighborhood in addition to operating premier accommodations and amenities.
Coral Hospitality will oversee all facets of each property's operations, as well as the major developments to both Brasstown Valley Resort and Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club that are being planned for 2005 and beyond. An equestrian center will open at Brasstown Valley this fall, and a full-service marina and restaurant is scheduled for Lake Blackshear in March 2006. This year marks the 10th anniversary for Brasstown Valley Resort with special events planned throughout the year.
A new regional sales office is being developed in Atlanta, headed by Jarrell Johnson. Johnson brings 19 years of sales and marketing experience, as well as being a former director of sales at the Brasstown Valley property.
"With our portfolio expanding outside Florida and the corporate team's vast experience throughout the U.S. and Caribbean, we can no longer be considered a boutique management firm," stated CEO Lee Weeks. "We have established ourselves as a full service management firm with all of the resources one might expect, including technical services consulting, pre-opening and management functions, as well as support services such as sales and marketing, human resources, finance, operations and purchasing." In 2004, Coral Hospitality grew by 30%.
